Howdy,
I have a HQ ute with a duel fuel 308 in it. I only intend to run it on LPG so I was thinking how hard is it to convert it to dedicated gas? Are there any benefits in doing this rather than having the option of using petrol there?
Any input would be great.

its piss easy man.
if your keen you can change manifold (or use a stocker i guess) and put an impco 425 on it, chances are the system your running is an imcpo already, so would be an easy change.
can use an adapter to fit a gas research t/b also, but youd need to have a tune done to have the best gains, which can be a bit pricey.
either way, the only thing that may need to be changed is the converter to suit the t/b or carb you choose.
the main gain is that the car isn't tuned to run on 2 different fuels!
and also that the actual gas delivery isnt some ****ty gas ring in the intake.
dual fuel is utter ****.
traight gas FTW!
once on straight gas power less is minimal, and if its a good tune almost nil. torque might suffer a bit, but again, nothing like it would on dual fuel.

If you go straight gas and do it right power will be INCREASED as LPG is a higher octane rating fuel than petrol so you can push the tune further.
Especially if you go with a single plane manifold and bolt the mixer directly to the throttle plates and than the manifold. throttle response will be increased and air flow will be HEAPS better = more power!!!
