um... i just bought a set of ve ssv rims genuines 19 inch and iwas told to get them on my car not only to machine the hub out so it would fit on te vt but also to get new tyers as the height of the ones on the ve would make it hit the struts on a earlier model commodore... so ive just had to go purchase a new set of tyers (the ones i bought elsewhere the tyers are 5000 km's old) and get 245/35/r19's al round
not sure about 5mm.. but you can get wheel spacers between your disc and rim.. i've got 5mm spacers on my gemini so my wheels don't hit the struts..
machining hub isnt too much of a big deal either, all you need is a dremel and a steady hand.. i've done it before for a mates car.
its not the witch that was the probblem apparently.. it was the height or the tyre. like the 40mm profle is too high with a 19 inch rim or something thas what i was told so i just got lower profile tyers
