Hi Guys, Recently there have been countless threads containing many common questions that are asked over and over again. My suggestion is that under the VL Turbo section we have a subsection (like the numberplates for sale section in the sale threads) which addresses many of these questions (how do I know if it's a BT1, how do I know if it's a genuine turbo, the topic with all the colours and codes etc). We could also compile many other related threads in there that will be of use to many readers and can be our VL Turbo Bible. As time goes on or some news or information is brought about, it can be added so all can read it. That way as soon as someone comes on the site they can enter the subsection

Alot of forums have simple things like paint codes, model codes etc as a sticky thread. It would save a hell of alot of time if we had something similar. Good idea. edit: could even include 'how can I tell if its an original Calais' Paint, engine, trans, model numbers, series 1 / 2 etc.

Full writeup on whats what on engine tags etc. Differences between 86/87/88 models, would be good.

Or, as suggested last time someone put up a thread about being sick n00bs posting crap, when they post a thread, have a screen come up with a list of similar threads (automatically searched by thread title, NOT by thread content - F*CK I hate the way CT search works).

isnt this what the tech section is for? lol maybe a warning before posting that says something like 'have you checked our tech section for bla bla'?

how about an "off-topic" section where ppl can just post whatever, most forums have them Quote: Originally Posted by 5spdvl Or, as suggested last time someone put up a thread about being sick n00bs posting crap, when they post a thread, have a screen come up with a list of similar threads (automatically searched by thread title, NOT by thread content - F*CK I hate the way CT search works). Thats true, the CT search is the most pathetic POS ever, anything you type brings up almost every thread, its absolutely useless, which is why the same dumb questions get asked over and over.

off-topic section = members section, And learn to be specific when you search with a couple more keywords or select only one section to search in etc...

It would be great if there was an advanced search option. ie: Search by thread title, search by thread content, search by thread content against user, etc etc. Thats just me - I've been around long enough to remember a sh*teload of threads, just not exactly where they are. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

dont lie, you havent been around for that long, lol

...I was using these forums for a good year before I signed up. The search function isn't used just by registered users.

So mods/ admin, what is the verdict? Can it be done. Would save a lot of people time and effort.

Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Right you are, right you are. Never gone that far into the search option, always just used the top right hand corner. Thanks! Maybe not as long as you, but I guess I'm just smart enough (or patient enough) to spend the necessary time finding what I want without asking over-answered quesitons in repetitive threads. I am a gold member though. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
