Hey everyone, Just wanting to know how much I should be paying for a VL Calais V8? I am wanting to get something stock that is fairly straight, clean and mostly original. Perhaps something with less than 200,000ks. Any info would be great, Thanks

From what youve described you might find your average price of around $3000-$4500 if you can find one. Most are flogged though. Try to buy one off an older person.

I'm looking for a daily and a candy gold vl calais would probably attract a bit too much attention

It does lol. If you're not after attention then I reckon you're going to have to find one with a stock exhaust because that rumble can attract a copper or 2.

Intelligent comment, is that to get your post count up? On topic, I paid $3k for my calais, 293k at the time but running like a charm, even the mechanic was impressed when he tuned it how well it's running. Everything works too, nice and straight, few marks here and there but original paint after 21 years you have to expect it. No major rust, blah blah, I could go on, but....... for what you want I'd be looking around $4k minimum, the one in post #3 sounds nice too.

thinkin of pullin the motor out and smoothin the engine bay out and respray the bay maranello red but with a gold pearl over the top. maybe hide the wiring, it had brand new pedders suspension and steering rack put in there before i got it, so im gonna replace all the rubbers in the front end while its off the road. put it all back together for the cruise 4 charity. then after that might take it back off the road and respray the rest of it. thinkin about a 355 stroker motor aswell. but its almost in mint condition full grandpa spec so i dunno if i wanna **** with its originality yet. still has the venetians and till recently had factory headunit, come with almost a boot load of new genuine parts aswell
