You could... Or just go buy a decent aftermarket one.

Good quality aftermarket trans coolers are real cheap these days, check out B&M and Derale, also even rip off PWR aren't to crazily priced.

Exactly. I wouldnt bother going to the wreakers.

Youve got to think about whats on production cars. Its whatever will work at the lowest possible cost. I wouldnt put it on a modified auto. Theyre designed for standard cars and mass produced for the cheapest possible cost. Go get a derale cooler... theyre huge, work a treat and theyre not too badly priced.

serco- hope i spelt it right make a good one and its the only 1 i have used- its a decent size-i feel the bigger the better when it comes to trans fuild and coolant stuff- i would not use one from a holden-its just to small and not as efficent as it looks-if its going into something with some hp--- Thanks Nick--

stay away from tube and fin coolers, they flow too fast and dont cool enough. bar and plates can slow the fluid down and allow the heat to exchange with the fins. im basing this on others knowledge, and was also told this by keas and another auto builder
