VL conversion - wiring harness question??

Help me if you can... I have 2 VLs one is a auto, good body, other one is a manual, not so good a body. To do the conversion of the manual into the auto shell, do I have to also move the complete wiring harness over from the manual shell or is there a short cut to using the auto harness..??? Just a little confussed... At a later stage I am going to run a after market ECU (MoTeC) computer, if that makes any difference!!!
