You can buy them off E-bay for around $80.

Are you asking if its worth it for the price or worth having it in the car? They normally sell for $99 or thereabouts + fitting.

$100 installed is good value.

I'd get an LSD instead mate. I have never had a minispool in my car, but you can tell exactly when a car has a minispool when it turns or does a u-turn. They are only good for the strip and for burnouts, thats it. ****house on the street.

All you have to do is use 300lb (std 55lb?) springs in you lsd with new cones, will act like a locker but will slip during tight turning. Also it will last alot longer then a standard LSD. Ive used 200lb springs in mine and its perfect, I think 300lb would be a little tight for a street car.

just put the spool in... you wont regret it. if you put a lsd in and you do heaps of skids you are wasting your time, it will just wear out in no time. and it costs 4 times as much.

Wont wear out very fast with heavy springs as it doesnt slip. A good LSD is far better on the street, theres a reason why mini spools are cheap lol.

lol, i dont know what to do then, went to a wreckers he said an LSD is like 1500 for a 2nd hand 1. and mini spool $100

Ive had both. The LSD centre (no gears or anything) was around $600 from memory new. It stuffed up and single spun after one small burnout. Diff place didnt want to know about it even though I told them the car is for burnouts and drag racing. I put a spool in it after that. It always turns two tyres not one and sometimes two, if it gets sideways you can control it much better and the worst im going to do is break an axle. I wouldnt put it in my car if it were a daily driver but I wouldnt look back to an LSD now for a weekend / drag car.

Thats a wrecker trying to milk you. As said, a good LSD will last on a street car, provided you're not continually doing skids.

Waste of money. Go to a good wrecking yard, act like you know what your talking about and you should score an LSD for less then a 1/4 of $1500. Try and score a set of 3.7 diff gears from an R31 if you can as well.

Spools are good until you have to negotiate u-turns and coppers pull up behind you. Expecially with new tires.
