Similar devices are now appearing in road cars as standard, mostly in the high end ones at the moment tho. A good idea, allows manufacturers to pass noise regulations easily. The valves are usually set to open at certain revs, and can often be over-ridden via a button in the cabin. Not sure on the legality of the device in Australia.

its just a butterfly valve that you turn on or off via remote. Either pluginto ciggie lighter or hard wired. Not a bad idea but they are like $450. there arent illegal, but it wont pass epa with it installed. The vic distributor is auto excess or something like that in nunawading ceylon st/rd or similar. Give them a call they have a website, or go to xforce website. Just type it in google.

but can you flick a switch and make it pump mega dB's? They would be variable on engine speed to create back pressure I would imagine.

the audi system is butterflied in the exhausts and on the intake "sports" and normal. and the sound is verry noticable, the drivers seat also bolsters itself more to hug you. but the principal is the same as the exhaust on the clip sport=full intake full flow on exhaust normal= half intake 2 pipe exit instead of 4 engine RPM is not factored nor is the system electronically controlled, its either on or off. Based on that you could argue the point of legality with the testing stations or the police if they picked on you. I suppose it is far more noticable on a needless cannon sized muffler and the price differance in the vehicles it would be fitted on. At least here in NZ we can do what we want and no body worries.......although thats not always a good thing with our jap import scene Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i cant see youtube at work, but is it the valve that dumps the exhaust out of a Y piece? ill assume it is lol if it is standard or even as an option on a car then it obviously complies with ADR and EPA rules. im guessing if a car didnt come out with one from the factory, then it cant be added, but im still keen to get one for the VH on the audi i doubt itd be setup like many here would want (ie before cat and or muffler) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
