im thinking about getting my car lowered but i will only be rolling on 15" chasers for a while, in the future i wanna get 18s or 19s. so if i lower my car now to suit the 15s will it sit higher when i get the 18 or 19s because of the different wheel height?
cheers Luke
oh dear... bigger rims do not nessacarily mean bigger height.
the rims are larger, but with larger rims, you put smaller profile tyres on so the rolling diameter should not change (or minimally). The law (in QLD anyway) is that you cannot change the rolling diameter of the rim/tyre by more than 13mm smaller or 26mm larger.
For a standard VL Calais on 15's, the tyres on the placard say 205/65/15. If you go 18's and use a 235/40/18, the difference in diameter is -2.3mm (ie, your car will sit 1.15mm lower!)
