hey guys i want to know if a standard vlt bottom end can handle 300rwkw ?? and if it cant what would need to be done to achive this because dont want to change to forgies as yet ???
a good recond bottom end will be good for around 300rwkw, but for reliability id think about upgrading the pistons (doesnt have to be forgies)
Try doing a search on here (heaps of info) or at the RB30/25det thread on the Skyline Australia forum.
Some of those guys are making 380rwkw on a standard na bottom end
Dont know how long it would last lol
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
It will handle it, but for how long who knows. Im running 283 RWKW on a stock standard 300000 + klms bottom end for months now.
It is just a matter of time before it goes boom but im not worried as I will just pull it out and forge the engine if it does.

Just buy some pistons to be safe.. there cheap.. and make sure you run a good head gasket..
Having a stock bottem end take alot of power is in the tuning...

Relax?
There is no answer or rule that says a stock RB30 bottom end will hold 300rwkw...thats why youve found mixed responses...it depends on many variables...tune, current condition of motor etc etc etc....

a frinds car made it into the 9's standard bottom end this is in an r31 but regardless the old rb is held up and is still holding on strong.
by the way the car is SNSABL the red one from P.E.T
What did Darren make with his GT42's rb30et that had been freshened up... 470rwkw odd wasn't it.
I've known of one that had done 320,000km's that was up at 380rwkw; didn't let go just the owner had finished building his forged motor.
As said its all in the tune.
Water injection helps out considerably. Keeps det away.
Everyone will tell you the good stuff, no one will tell you about all the blowup's...
Just get the car up and running with about 200 rwkw and bolt on's, then when you can afford it have a decent engine getting built on the side.

get a well known ecu (buy a good one the first time) injectors, fuel system 044 ect, and get a good f###ing tuner to tune it.as long as its getting the right amount of fuel when it needs it. good luck..........
