VN onwards heads are all the same. the VN and VP V8's are almost identical, changes WERE made to VR and VS motors. Will have to pull a book out to confirm WHAT was changed, but they ARE different. The Heads aren't (contrary to popular belief, most people say 'VN heads', as they were the first injected, non Siamese ported heads)

If there are differences between VN and VR they are minimal and not worth choosing one over the other. VS Series3 and VT Series1 have a roller cam and block clearance for stroker crank

well from wat i have been told all motors vr onwards were clearanced, and i have had a vr v8 engine in my shed for a few weeks and it was clearanced, it is not just vs series 3 and vt series 1 that were clearanced

VR V8 introduced a smarter computer with more memory and capability but still 165kw. VS V8 got a bit larger airbox for another 3kw.

VS series 3 champ, they were also rated at 179kw and 400nm compared to the series 2 which were 168kw and 395nm, 165kw and 385nm for the series 1. June 1998-December 2000. HSV was a different story Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i still reckon it was vr, they clearanced them all for the factory strokers and they started in vr EDIT: VR onwards were clearanced from factory, VS3 and VT engines are different again as they r clearanced and have roller lifters.
