Hey just wondering if anyone can tell me the average price to convert an N/A to turbo, nothing major, just basically stock turbo and that? as im not having much luck finding anything so thinking about getting a clean n/a and turboing it if its not too expensive... thanks.

VLT's are a good bang for your buck! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

But remember to tripple what you think you will need to spend.

4k for a stock vlt set up? lol... You can get all the parts for under $1500 easily. Just have a look through the forsale section on this site.

mmmmm $1500 will do it but you risk popping gaskets all day long and eventually killing your gearbox, not to mention the fact that the extra power is a lot more fun when delivered through two wheels... if you want to upgrade to turbo i'm guessing you have a heavy foot already... so do it once, properly, get an LSD, turbo gearbox and change compression too, bringing the cost closer to $3000 but ensuring the setup will last a bit longer thats my 2cents anyways, spend it well Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeh cheers, probably wont go completely stock...would like 2 have a bit of power behind the wheels but not too much due to lack of funds.. pretty sure i've found a nice clean n/a so if i can pick it up i'll be sourcing parts soon. i'd have to put more money in though when it comes to gearbox and etc. or should that hold up fine with a stock vlt setup? also would it be easier to find an original turbo engine or should the n/a engine be fine as long as i go about it the right way?

stock N/A engine ftw. I've been putting 7 - 10 psi through my standard bottom end and trans for like 5 months now And thats with it pinging at one stage too. Make sure you got a good clean injection system otherwise you'll probably pop it straight away. I may have a complete turbo setup forsale soon too. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

when converting to a turbo what is it better to have a 5 speed or auto? and what mods what make the gear box stronger? cheers

I have found personally the MF5's don't last as long, the non turbo auto's are better. Depends wether you want a stick or not and how you drive.

what if your a major lead foot (like to put your foot down) what would be the best?

I blew my mf5 on stock boost in my old VLT. My VLCT I am running 10psi and a N/A auto, and it hasn't started playing up. So personally, auto n/a will hold more power then the n/a manual from personal experiences.

im running 10psi through my standard n/a trans and its been fine so far its been 7-8 months. i thought the n/a auto's werent much weaker than the turbo one's just make sure you have a transcooler but the n/a manuals were crap?
