Last Thursday the 8th of May, a Person named Randy, I say a person because I now know this person as a fraud,called via Private Number to inspect my Vehicle
advertised on Carsales.com.au. He came down driving a Grey Ford XR6 BA Model. He had his Missus in the Passenger Seat and another female in the back.
He inspected the Car and proceeded to offer me $13,900 with a RWC. I accepted this offer and he then said he was to check
out a few cars and make a firm commitment then. I found this odd as you dont make offers then check out others normally.
Later on in the day I get a phone call from him (private number) he says its Randy again. He says I've decided to buy your car.
He asked for bank details and he'll deposit some money into my account Friday morning and give me a bank cheque after he finishes work. I proceeded to give him these details.
He again Calls at 7pm (private number) He has lost my bank details , could I give them again. Done.
Next day comes , I check my account every few hours to see if money has been deposited so I can proceed to get a RWC. Nothing, not even a phone call.
5pm Rolls on I've given up on the bloke, I wind back and put my feet up , put on a flick. He calls!! "Randy here , I had a few problems with the bank , but It has all worked out
im coming down with a Bank Cheque in your name for $13,800... I'll take it with out a RWC", he says. I say "Sweet , I'll see you soon , all little problems I've already fixed so the
car is ready". He says he is drving down from Northcote. So I assume about 1.5 hours given its friday night traffic.
6:30 , He calls.. "Err hi , my GPS has stopped working I dont know how to get to your house, I'm at Noble Park Maccas , can you come down here". "Sure" I say...
I go down armed with my transfer paper and pen. I pull up next to his car in the car park ... he gets out , his wife shoots off in her car like a bolt , failing to give way to traffic
and speeding off. Suprised but didnt think anything of it. I give him the Transfer paper , he fills in his details.. I didnt check his I.D ERROR 1. He hands me a cheque,
I glance at it , right amount, surname mispelt .. happens all my life , thought nothing of it. Rip off the pink bit of transfer paper , didnt look at it... ERROR 2.
Give him the Keys, I ask him to take me to my wifes work not very far from there, ive left the key to the lock nuts in my wifes car.
We go there , I get the key , he asks if i checked the cheque out, if it is all correct. I said yes , all good. Give the key to him , he drives off , i get my wifes keys and go home.
Next day I take cheque in to the bank and deposit into my account. I wait my 3 working days.
Today I check my account , money isnt there , it says cheque has been cancelled. I go into the bank, they give me the run around a bit saying the person may have cancelled the cheque.
To my suprise, I asked them how is that possible. He has the car , he could of done anything to it by now. He didnt call to tell me he was cancelling , nor did he call to say
he has a problem with the car. I didnt have his phone number.
Further investigation by the bank revealed the Bank Cheque was real but the details on it is manipulated. aparantly the guy bought a bank cheque on the 1st of May for $20.
He has somehow managed to change its details to reflect the price of the car with my name on it. After further investigation they tell me to go to the police station and report the car stolen.
Checking the Transfer paper He puts his name as James Hook of 34 Elm Street, Northcote. No such person but there is that address, His Licence number is Fake as well.
I go and report it, the officer does some investigating , with the help of the bank she finds out the persons real name and address which was different to what was on the transfer paper.
The car is now reported stolen, the car is still in my name
Long post but I needed to get this off my chest and if anyone has any more info can you pm me or call on [phone removed].
Car is a Black VT Calais Series II with a HBD Body kit Like the ones they use on the VT HSV Manta.
It has 19" VX GTS Replica Wheels with Bridgestone tyres on the front and Pirelli Tyres on the back. The front left wheel has some gutter Rash
It has a sports Exhaust which has a loud Drone to it.
It has a VX Calais Boot Garnish with chrome , and a VX SS Spoiler.
The Front head lights are Blackend to look like the Statesman International Headlights.
The Left Spot light cover is not painted as it is a replacement of one that fell off from parking too close to gutter.
It has Dark Window tint, It has Grey Leather Interior
It has a Supercharged V6 in it.
