Hey Chaps, Did a reather large serach on this and seems the most common prob is Valve Stem Seals etc... - Most results were for the turbo guys.... So... My car 5 seconds after starting Blows out White Smoke - Kinda eases off after its started... So the car may have a Stuffed head/gaskett - not sure ?! - The car was originally using around a liter of coolant a week - AND was finding a lil milky sludge under the oil cap, and even some on the Pipe inside the coolant bottle!!! - Apparently now it doesnt use much coolant at all and yeah the milk kinda is there sometimes, not other times Car doesnt seem to use any Oil etc, Just done an oil change and Old oil seems to be fine and its stopped using SO MUCH coolant. So do we think its a head gaskett or these valve stem things? Any Educated input would be much appreciated..

white smoke, milky under the oil cap and loss of coolant! headgasket 100% When you do change your oil at first it is slightly thicker but after a run for 100-200kms the oil will thin down a bit and the same problem will start! But has the car overheated? and all the symtoms still persist see your mech! or get the head reco'd and a new gasket and your on your way don't keep drving it thinking it be alight it will just get worst

I would say headgasket. Sounds like a very small leak, fix it quickly and you wont have a problem. You will have to flush your cooling system also. Goodluck bud.

Na look, Im joking i Could never Sell my Baby Plus Couldnt knowing full well there is SOMETHING wrong! lol Just dis heartens me knowing ive spent a lot of money restoring this car to its former glory!! I mean it was an SL, Now a Full Berlina!!! And now, just before i start saving for the paint it dies!! Sheesh!' - Sok, I found a head locally, Thankfull donated by "SAMPO" - Ill take this and get it tested etc.. If it turns out all ok, ive got a mechanic that will do the labour for $300- Hopefully he will pull it all down and see that its just the gaskett!?( I hope) - If not, Ill have a head ready to but put on ( thats presumming this one tests fine) Epic, i know, but im the most pedantic VL owner EVER!!!

id do the labour for a case if you were in syd mate. Changing a head isnt really that hard just take it step by step and make sure you got the right tools
