Hey fellas.
Have been having dramas with my GB and after reading a few threads it seems that the vacuum modulator could be the issue.
Just wondering if this is an easy job to replace, as in i will just be doing at home. I had a look at it the other night and it seems easy enough, I am just wondering is there anything I should expect when i remove it, like spings and sh!t that i really dont want to lose.
Cheers
Christian

anyone have some insight
Yeah mate easy as. Screw the old one out, don't lose the pushrod in the gearbox. Use the old pushrod with the new modulator and get a new o-ring seal, screw it in and your done.
You can turn it in with multi-grips but be sure to grab the modulator from the back end not the front as the two halves are only crimped together and of they were to twist you may wreck the diaphragm.
Describe your symptoms just in case it's not the problem.
whoa has been a while since i have checked this. Cheers for the replies, It takes ages for it get into gear, drive or reverse. Once it gets going it is usually fine, but it is at the point where it is undriveable. Plus trying to find one of these phuckers to buy is damn near impossible..
This is where I got mine:

EDIT: Oh just noticed you're in Perth, well that's where head office is, check the website.
Bumping this bad boy up........
At this stage I have replaced the modulator. but yet to get the car going. Stupid flat battery.
purchased the part from driveline in osborne park. Cost me roughly $60, called holden spares but they didn't have any as they aren't producing them anymore (or so the guy says). Extremely easy to remove and replace, took me all of 10 mins to do. Would have gotten photos and done a step by step (basically 2 steps), but it was pitch black and a camera phone probly wouldn't have cut it.
Cheers for the help guys. hopefully all goes well.
