Ive been thinking and heard alot of good things about puting a r33 RB25DE or T on my RB30ET block and selling my intake and exhaust manifolds 4 rb25 items. Ive been doing alot of searching and reading about it on here and on the skyline forums. Is it possible to have the RB25 head shaven to bring compression up to 8.5:1 on my standard rb30et block ?? (I no i could use the NA block but dont really wanna pull motor out as its fairly fresh). Cheers

Sell your fresh VLT motor and by a rebuilt N/A short motor. I picked up my complete RB25DET top end setup for $1275, and was quoted $1400 odd for a HM Gem rebuilt short N/A motor. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeh may have to consider that. Just wanted to know if its possible to shave the rb25 head enough to bring the compression up from 7.5:1 or something if i put it straight on. RB30ET = 8.5:1 with head it would be 7.8:1 is it possible to bring compression up by getting shaved. Its only 0.7 to bring it back to 8.5:1. it would only be a few mm wouldnt it???

shaving will **** the squish zones and cause detonation/possible poor power. replacing the pistons in your engine is the only way to get an ideal c.r. if you really want to keep your existing block and engine number.
