K,
This will sound maybe a bit soppy/harsh, but here goes.
If you really cant think of a place thats special to her maybe you dont know her well enough.
But, think about it yourself mate.
Perhaps there was a park, or beach or something she grew up visiting.
Or a place that you met/took her on your first date/had a romantic date etc.
Maybe theres somewhere she has always wanted to go to, or something shes wanted to do (Sky Diving etc.)
All that sorta thing man,
Have a real good think about it.
And congrats, and best of luck.

My idea, if somehow you could slip the ring and a little proposal note in a fortune cookie that would be tops. After your nice expensive meal at a chinese or Thai restaurant have the waitress bring out a few fortune cookies on a plate as a nice little treat. Open yours up first and read it and watch as everything falls in place. The look on her face as she opens it up and reads the note would be priceless! ****ing priceless!
But, on a sad note though. How on earth do you get a ring in a fortune cookie??
I think thats a pretty good idea. I'd probably try set the mood of the night more serious, without getting to too serious and boring at the same time.
GL with it!

OK. I was sorta under the assumption that you were absolutely terrified behind your balls and didn't know what her reply would be.
My idea was just an idea. Something a bit different in regards to presenting a ring to a woman

15-04-08, 23:10 GMT+10#13 you dont need to do it at a look-out man... you want her to be looking at you. she loves you already so the pretty view is not necessary
i reckon go to somewhere that means a lot to her/you...
my suggestions would be, where you met her, where you asked her out, where you first went on a propper date etc. etc.
girls are real mushy about stuff like that, it's handy to have one of her closest friends on your side as well (or her mum)... set up a nice surprise

16-04-08, 08:03 GMT+10#15 Take her to Icebergs in Bondi for a feed. Great bar and Romantic lighting. Chicks dig Icebergs. Or take her to Kissing point in Putney like I did with my wife and propose with a Burger ring.

lol hilarious lol
i was looking at icebergs also, but i dont know what the food is like there?
It doesnt have to be a lookout but just somewhere nice.
Maybe i should elaborate for everyone.
I cant do where we met etc... as i grew up with her, i went to highschool with her.
So thats why i just want to go to a nice spot thats all have a nice feed and then go for a walk somewhere.

16-04-08, 13:09 GMT+10#18 Along the beach mate, ring in a bottle with a note, walking along, drop the bottle just before you turn around, when you turn around make sure she sees it with the note, she will pick it up and read the note. Depending how smart she is you may need to explain it to her. My mate did it this way, his missus was in tears, good tears, not bad tears like the answer was going to be no.

Icebergs food is great but a little pricey. Make a booking, get there 45mins before for drinks, take her outside on the balcony that overlooks the beach and cliffs and do it (not IT, propose)
Either that or take her to the cricket nets at your old school for a nostalgic picnic of sausage rolls and chicken nuggets, just like school.
