having problems getting engine to fire, started off with fuel pump crapped out,and at that time alot of people had different ideas of what was wrong,so i have replaced, dizzy, coil, ecu, afm, leads, plugs then fuel pump!!Until pump was replaced nothing fixed prob, new pump worked fine drove car for 100kms or so,went to start car next morning and wouldnt fire just kept turning over,i replaced the fuel relay in fuse box and she fired straight away, run fine all the way to work, then wouldnt start for the trip home 5 hours later, from there we have checked all wiring and fuel pump again, its getting fuel but wont fire!! Has anyone had same problem or know what this might be?any help would be awesome!! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

If the temp sensor has packed up then it's more likely to run rich and flood than it is to run lean, which would mean it'd be more likely to start in the morning than the afternoon. The first thing I was gonna suggest was the crank angle sensor, mine gave me problems on and off for years before I worked it out.. but you've done that already. Which pump did you replace? I'm assuming you've taken the fuel pump relay out and put it back in again? Terminals might be coming loose or something. You've done pretty much everything so you must be pretty annoyed Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

****, that sounds like fun Have you run the diagnostic on the computer? (I don't put much faith in them, mine told me my knock sensor was faulty.. that coming out of a 2EM computer does NOT make sense) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yah finally sorted it out, note to everyone, dont always trust ya local dismantler to provide quality "tested" parts!! bought a dizzy from wreaker and it turned out to cause more problems than anything, was assured it was a mint one(for $150 youd think so)but wasnt good enough to even fire her up,so thinking it was something else after buying my "mint" dizzy, ive ended up chasing my tail replacing everything around it,went back to square one and bought a "new new" dizzy and she fired straight away with bit of timing issues, thank fark for that!!! See you all at the cruise

See you all at the cruise well at least you know all your sensors, wiring, fuel pump etc... are all mint now cause you've either replace or tested them Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

It doesn't make sense that there's a knock sensor, I mean why.. Did you go back to the Wrecker? I picked up a complete distributer for $1, yet to test it out yet.. I picked up a complete distributer for $1, yet to test it out yet.. because the compression ratio is 9.5:1, a naturally aspirated car can "pre ignite" or detonate, not just turbo vehicles.although id say if you ran a 2l ecu on a 3l without the knock sensor it'd be retarded all the time unless you wired it up properly.

I remember my Gregory's manual saying 'turbo only' next to the knock sensor. Wrecker sounds like an asshole, I guess you won't be going back there again or recommending the place to anyone.
