you probably already know this but having the breather on the rear crankcase vent. then the front one on the pcv is pretty pointless your getting unmetered air into your motor.

thanks mate, the door trims are just done with vinyl over a thin foam backing. i just strippped the old material off, drew up the templates and sewed it up with a standard sewing machine, despite what people say it will handle sewing vinyl quite easily. then its just contact glued on at the front and glued and tacked on at the back with tiny trimming tacks about 3-4mm long

thanks for pointing that out, i was under the impression it wouldn't matter but looking at the pcv system diagram it is pretty clear that air is drawn in through the breather, bypassing the afm. i've bought some t-pieces today and am going to plumb it into the other hose coming from the throttle body

thanks mate. the bay has probably taken in excess of 100 hours because it has all been sanded back and resprayed as well as smoothing and hidden wiring. the initial clean to get it to the before pic took a while too because there was fisholene in there all over everything. i've had everything off the motor to paint and clean up at some stage too. i enjoy it though its just a case of a few hours each weekend over the last couple of years
thanks to everyone else for there comments too, much appreciated

yeah no worries if your having idle problems i bet they all go away after you fix up the vent system. it's easy to test you've got it working properly. at idle open the oil cap if the idle goes a bit **** your pcv system is good if it doesn't change means your pcv system isn't right as your already getting unmetered air in via the pcv.

Very neat bay. A lot of work in that.
Im just curious as to how the engine goes now with all the intake mods? Ive been thinking about going with the XF throttle and stainless piping with a POD, but if it does nothing for performance then I won't bother.

thanks woggster, mrsn8r and magnum06.
it goes pretty well with the intake mods, very responsive down low and pulls better high in the revs. without the xf and everything it felt like it dropped off at about 3500-4000rpm. it does the 0-60 pretty quick but obviously still being na it doesn't have the power to accelerate to 100 that quick. overall i would say the xf throttle is worth it (it only cost me about $50 to do) but it does take time to sort out the idle

I'm not a fan of the interior, but massive points for doing it all yourself.
That bay is very, very nice. I really like it.
Question: your radiator overflow bottle hoses; where do they go/how do they get to the radiator? And how is your power steering fluid reservoir mounted?
