hey to everyone... my berlina is in the workshop getting eveything done to it ( full respray, smoothed bay, full engine ect) but im still decieding if i want to go calais look or just keep it berlina spec?? cheers guys

berlina look with full badges and pinstripes etc.. what color is it mate and please tell me your respraying it the original color

yeah do whatever you like it your car. i put a calais front on my berlina some people gave me **** but i like it and it looks better then the normal front in my opion. but everyone it differeent

Completely up to you mate. if you have access to all of the calais bits then go for it. Everyone has their own taste, if you like the look of the calais over the berlina then do it. I'm changing mine from berlina to calais slowly...

if it was me id keep it berlina spec with all badges and pinstriping, looks mint!!

i reckon the calais front is awsome(done properly) just don't get that new fiberglass shell that looks like **** get the original

yea but still, see it dosent set it off it needs a calais back and interior and asteroid silver bottom half, more like urs im jelous now.

That's mostly right IMO (definitely the bit about it's going to look good no matter what because it's a VL). I think the resale would be similar either way as some would consider it worth less not being original anymore and some would consider it worth more with the calais front. And while I agree that if you do the front you should do the rear I don't think you'd have to go with the Calais badges and interior as well. You could still use Berlina badges and interior and it'd look great. While at the end of the day like most have said it's up to you personally as to what you think looks better. You've got to live with it and look at it more than anyone else. If it was me I'd keep any VL I owned with the same exterior features (excluding paint colour and possibly the badges) as to what it left the factory with.

If you do decide to go calais please buy door moulds as well as the rear boot stripping / lights / garnish. Get the complete exterior, nothing looks worse than half a mock up

I think it looks good, but I will be going Calais mock up eventually. Line them up side by side, and decide which one you like better. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

It'll only ever be a mockup if you put the Calais gear on it. Plus, piecing together a decent mockup will cost you enough extra $$$ to make you wish you'd bought a vl8vx shell in the first place Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

and calais fronts are still expencive and if you ever cash replacment costs are higher

i say keep it og. but in the end its up2u.... but as a few have said, if u do decide to go calais go all out, not just the front
