Hi there, I have just replaced 12 lifters with known goods ones. Before putting them in they have been cleaned and soaked in oil for 24hours, put them back in the car and cranked it over and are still pretty noisey. just wondering if anyone could suggest anything else to try. i have heard people say that by unpluging one injector cable at a time you will be able to diagnose if it is the lifters. by doing this will it stuff anything up. Any suggestions will be much appriciated. Thank you.

lifters can take some time to bleed up and if you cleaned them they may need some time to settle down ive had cars run for hours before they bleed up but these problems are not as common on vls its more a cam bucket style that have problems saying that they are second hand out of another engine so both may have worn differently, how long have you left the engine running for, does your car run a standard cam

The car is Idling fine and sounds normal apart from the ticking noise (Very Annoying).

let it run for a while and see if if gets better, so the car the lifters came from had a standard cam and yours has a lumpy one

The head that the lifters came out of had a standard cam and mine is Lumpy correct.
