hey! yesterday i was fanging the vl n/a 5 speed up a hill and the car just splattered and died in the arse....So i went to pick a part and got a whole dizzy and a external fuel pump. replaced the dizzy and didnt help so check the fuel line to the engine and no fuel even comes through....replace the pump and it starts fine....... 2 hours later go for a drive to get some food.....car dies and cant start it....the fuel pump is still buzzing..relays are all good...tried another external pump and it makes the same buzzing sound...im thinking the internal low pressure pump has **** itself in the same day!!! what you guys think?? **** i hate vls at times still no fuel getting to the engine fuel line.... If you've got more than half a tank of petrol, your car will still run if your in tank pump is dead. Have you looked at the loom and connectors for the CAS?

fuel pressure reg?? blocked fuel filter? take the hose between the external fuel pump and fuel filter out, and turn ignition on to prime the pump. if fuel pisses out fine then pump should be alright. if not remove hose between tank and ext pump and prime and see (or measure volume of) if fuel comes out. eliminate fuel system failures 1 by 1

thanks guys i will check it out.....i went and bought a new intank pump anyway cos ive never replaced it.......i started the car quickly to see if it will start and it did but died cos i had to drain all the fuel out to put the new pump in. just wating on more petrol lol edit* just check all hoses for blockage....nothing blocked and checked fuel filter...all fine. wouldnt be the fuel regulator as the fuel isnt reaching that far anyway. just waiting for a big jerry can so i can fill her up let you goes know how i go. cheers for your help 2nd edit.....both external fuel pumps are faulty! wat a prick! all they do is jolt and thats it...no noise from them at all Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
