Hey guys Car is booked in to get this fitted in a couple of weeks Blaupunkt london mp3 player with Aux input front, rear & sub output and Eq Boston S60 splits Boston S65 2 ways 2 x DB12 Earthquake subs Custom tuned slot ported box Big 5 channel amp and ipod interface What are peoples thoughts on this gear? The head unit has come reccomended apparently it "shits" on the alpine unit. I'm sticking with the bostons as they are top notch... As for the amp not sure what it is (gotta love having mates in the industry) but I'd say it will be a good quality powerful 5 channel.. Will find out tomorrow exact specs... As for the subs don't know much about them??? Anyone? Anyway any hints for the install or changes you think I should make let me know all opinions wanted... It's all going into a vs berlina sedan... Cheers

I would suggest 2 amps instead of a 5 channel. I'm sure the 5 channel is great but a big mono block just for subs will be heaps better and you'll get more range and ability with them. If its a great head unit you'll want to utilise the sub output on the rear as more than likely it will have bass/sub features inbuilt. Can't see much about those subs, if they are DB12's it says they are only rated at 225rms which isn't much. When i use to do car audio installs i found nothing better than Rockford Fosgate, Digital Design, Lightening Audio, OLD soundstream or Tarantula gear and the Kicker Solabarics L7's aren't too bad either for price and rms rating. It depends what music you listen to and how much rms/bass you want. The better the amp the better the subs will sound, always go a more powerful amp over a more or even ranging rms power rating amp/sub combo. Depending on power you MAY need upgraded battery and between 4-0 gauge wiring. You'll love the boston's they are an awesome and clear sounding speaker. I prefer mb quartz but got mates who swear by boston. Headunits are headunits these days, especially if your running amps for speakers/subs, all they do is have features and has everything you need. I'd go an eclipse or nakamitchi deck if your going high end gear for the features. Never been a fan of blaupunkt things, had a few unit returned.

They are an awesome speaker no doubt. Its all personal preference. We had a guy come in with MB Quartz top the range speakers and hated them, we installed Focals once again top of the range he hated them, he went out and bought Pioneer Yellows and loved them.
