bigger housing = more lag but more power.. thats my understanding.. pm sumone like 6boost im sure he can explain it in detail

It really depends on application. Ive seen cars with the .82 rear beat the 1.06 in a race with less boost. Its an overall combination. You should rephrase your question.

The size of the rear really just infers to how much top end you have. A smaller rear will have more power down low, but lose it up top. Where as the bigger rear will give you the reverse. What do you want the car to do?

Munro is correct, the difference between the seat-of-the-pants feel of a .86 reared GT35 and a 1.06 one is the top end. Although the .86 still has strong top end pulling power on the RB30, the 1.06 is a real eye opener. Because of this, the 1.06 also produces greatly elevated peak power figures.. although on the street the smaller rear will cut down on spooling time and get that mid-range pull pumping earlier (especially in a manual car) and as such, have a fighting chance at beating the 1.06 backed car.

That was a highly modified and fully custom built JPC turbo with different wheels, you can't really call it a "GT35/40 .63" as such.

seriously you wont really feel the difference from a .82 housing and a 1.06 housing, i had it on my car with both housings and they were both the same on pulp, i couldnt tell the difference and i drove it every day

i couldn't feel the difference from a 30/40.63 rear over my 35.40 .82 other than the 30/40 made boost alot quicker, still pulled just as hard!

When i went front GT3040 .82 to GT3540 .82 i could literally tell zero difference in response, the only difference was i picked up 20rwhp on the same boost. It's interesting how different cars/setups behave differently hey!

Lol...Jack, you sound like youre writing a column for the magazine...speak properly...and its a 0.82/1.06 ya goose... The actual difference in power producing potential for the 1.06 over the 0.82 is not that huge or 'greatly elevated' as you put it...6BOOST has supplied figures for these turbos, search his threads.

AND!! let me tell you.. my latest combo.. holy moly!! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
