Heya Guys, I am a complete spastic! I have read all of the articles on replacing head units and dash speakers and dash speakers seemed like the easier of the two to start with. For some reason I just can't manage to find these two screws that are mentioned. Could someone take a picture of where I need to be looking at to pull out the screws or tell me in a little bit more detail? Cheers guys.

from memory you have to pull out the air vents on the dash. Then you need to slide a thin flat head screw driver under the bottom of the vent and gently lever it out. Then there will be 2 screws pointing up into the speakers. *havnt done it for 2 years so im not 100%...

These are pics of a photocopy so there not that good but it should be all you need. Also if your putting in after market speakers they generally wont fit under the covers, so you might need to grind off some plastic or make up some custom covers like i did: Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

What jeffo said. More or less, you use a flathead screwdriver to remove the airvents, be carefull as they can break, they're sorta spring loaded. After theyre out can see the screws behind the vents no worries.

yeah that's it. GENTLY lever out the air vents, there are 2 holes above the top, smaller air vent. stick a phillips head into those and they will allow you take off the cover over the speakers.

This is awesome guys - but one more spastic question. Is it just the vents I pull out, or the black surrounds they sit in? Thanks heaps guys.

You just pull out the two vents, then above there will be 2 screws facing upward, take them out and then the cover will come off

hey, if u have issue 119 of street commodores it explains exactly how to do it with very good step by step instructions. its not that hard to do, just take things slow and be careful and u should be able ot change both of them over in about an hour or so.
