hi, my calais wagon has a verry anoying problem i was just wondering if anyone has had the same or similar and have come up with a solution. you lock it with the remote, all doors lock and blinkers flash etc as per normal, doors are locked all is well. so there it sits, locked and from anywer in between 1- 24 hrs the alarm starts going off its head for no apparant reason???? wtf no one has touched it or nothing. previous owner said he had same problem, his cure was to lock it manualy, stuuf that theres a remote there i wanna use it! he said somthing about voltage drop?? i dunno has anyone else had this problem? also can you buy those little bottons on the remote as mines missing. cheers.

or as he said, a voltage drop! if the batteries sh|t, it will drop its voltage over time and the alarm will pick that up and go nuts! happened to me and it ended up being coz the alternator wasnt working properly. my alarm would also go off if i left my windows down :| dunno why... as a temporary fix, turn the alarm/siren off, and leave the central locking on.

the genuine ones run off a voltage drop somthing must be drawing current while the car is off does it have an amp or any thing or the glove box light not switching off, or the battery maby deing failing that the system could be faulty

the batterey should be fine i cleaned all the terminals there tight etc as giant brandon said somthing must be draining power providing the system runs on voltage drop. it dosent have an amp i will check the glove box light tho. anyone else had a similar problem?
