Hey my car is a turbo running an n/a intake manifold with no bov. When i take my foot off after having boost i can hear a whooosh sound coming from the intake manifold and the car nearly stalls (sometimes does stall). I think it might be the AAC valve leaking or something but im really not sure? Any ideas? Thanks!

Mine used to do it with the stock cross over pipe... its still compressor surge but obviously doesnt flutter as much or be as vocal. Something is wrong if its stalling though.

maybe your AFM is on its way out and with the mini surge its sending off bad bad bad readings causing it to happen? Try another AFM, cant hurt. Either that or the rubbers have perished or arent tight enough and when your back offering it just releases the boost out of a small hole or loose rubber piece

how much boost? R34NRG may be on the money could be the overboost valve that bleeds off after 9psi iirc. GRK-WPN dont think the PCV has anything to do with it

yeh.. definetly try another AFM. i always thought the stall occurs from when you let of the boost the surges back through the turbo and doesnt get enough air to sustain revs so it cuts out.

he's running a N/A intake, so there is no "over boost" valve... and it sounsd like the AFM, coz on surge the flow goes backward thru the afm and confuses it

LOL GRK-WPN is still a tool, PCV has absolutely nothing to do with boost. PCV = Positive Crankshaft Ventilation. The thing he might be referring to, and i can only say he might be as i don't know a turbo motor, yet, Would be the Overboost Valve. But i also have the theory it might be leaking out of a joint somewhere, Because it only whoosh's out when its boosting into a closed throttle body and it might be trying to escape out anyway it can, that 10 pounds of pressure or what ever boost you have running might have pushed a joint open just enough to escape out.

I had the same problem with my VLT, I researched it on ct and turns out one of my hoses off the cooler were loose and thats were it was leaking from. I read a post by dixie and it said "If it affects the dose its the cooler piping" He was spot on. Tighten everything and see how you go.
