if you need to ask for pointers chances are its best left to a pro. but obviously everyone has to start somewhere.
regardless of how much you know though, it still has to be signed off by a qualified gas mechanic.
i rekn its similar to installing an amp lol - just bit more er technical
gas tank and cradle in the boot, run the gas lines under the car in a safe position up into the bay to a lockoff valve and mount the converter either horizontal or vertical (apparently depending on brand, its always a bit sketchy lol) and gas line to either GRA throttle body, a gas ring (bad choice) or an impco gas carby.
obviously would need filler set up properly and will need safety relay and primer setup.
theres more to it of course, so yeah generally best left to someone who knows what theyre doing, but i rekn the tank (not filler), carby/throttle body and lines can be installed at home if you feel confident, which can save costs, but converter, lock offs and electrics are a different story

You may find it hard to get a LPG guy to sign off on it.
We need to put our name on the plate and paper work stating we FITTED it.
I would never put a plate on a vehicle that I did not fit.
And as misk said if you need to ask you definatly are not qualified to fit it.
Running the lines and mounting the tank are absolutly critical, right down to the dimentions of the plates used on the mounting bolts, the bolt grades the vent hole usable area in CC's flares on the copper lines wiring...... everything.
And the reason I won't compliance someone elses work is cause once its fitted its too hard to check most of these things and just one of them could cost someone their life. And I know that I don't need that, nor do any other fitter I know.
Goodluck
