I tried the search, but like always all I found was Australian info. I'm looking at rebushing my suspension (wagon), does anyone know how much a bush kit costs, what comes in it, and where I should go to get it.. the only brand I can find from using google is Whiteline (and their product descriptions aren't too helpful..), the only place I can see to get them from in NZ is SAS (Shock Absorbers Services) but they don't have a website or anything.. Any kind of info about nolathane bushes would be great.

repco in aus sell nolothane and usually have a fair bit of variety on the shelf, not sure if they have the same stuff over there in nz tho, but if they do, jsut explain what you want and they should be able to order them in for you

Shops like that are difficult cause you ask them for something and they say 'whats the part number?' or they look it up, and the book is wrong (Repco tried giving me the wrong bosskit twice, their books list VL bosskits the same as H series Holdens, so I ended up getting an Autotechnica bosskit (which they said wouldn't work) from SuperCheap which has worked out much better (not that super cheap is any better, when I got my first bosskit for my other car they gave me a later model one first..)) Anyway, there's my rant on department type stores.

Thanks for the help everyone, I'll give repco a shot and try BNT cause I can get discount there. All of a sudden they look easy to find! Convert, how much was the kit? (front and rear?)

Partsmaster parts i have found to be usually cheaper no-name products and i am not game enough to try them, Ive always had good service through Mag & Turbo (because my work deals with them and it helps that they are VL nuts)

i recently started to change my bushes in my car with nolathane and wasnt happy with how they fitted since you could just push them into k-frame and control arms with no force etc. i know there designed to be harder and work like that but theres no twist in them like rubber so they add more stress i feel, so i took it all back and got every bush direct from holden and it drives like a brand new car! couldnt be happier Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I think I'll be getting new links/all the little metal bits. Oh and when I do this I'll be putting a V8 front swaybar in. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Im getting geared up for a resto at the moment, and I will be re-bushing with rubber except for the panhard rod. Nolathaned cars tend to clunk and be a bit less compliant, fine for the track but not ****ty NZ roads. As for your front bar irontusk, leave the standard rear one ( more than stiff enough) and source a 6cyl FE2 front bar (2mm thinner), as long as you up the spring rates (ie, not standard springs) and fit a quality shock this set up should provide a nice turn in while subsiding the standard cars roll-oversteer characteristics.

The car is on 'lows' (Dobi I think) and I picked up a V8 front sway bar for free. Oh I'm more than used to clunks, after all my diffslap (which is fixed now) and this other problem which I might be able to show a few people on sunday.

Nolathane will just chew itself out and add excess stress but will give a stiffer ride compared to rubber so i guess its good for track work. Really to understand what i mean you would have to pull out the Radius rod bush thats inserted into the front of the K-frame and try both the nolathane and original rubber and compare how they fit.

Same with mine. I did every bush possible so if anyone wants to see what it's like I can take them round the block on Sunday morning
