Hey guy's i am totally new to the audio part of cars and everything i picked up 2 6x9's sony explode to be exact
they say 200w max
and my mate gave me his old amp
4 x 100wrms
and i have a head deck that says 4x50
someone said that it will be giving the 6x9's just 50 watt
but i wanted to see if i could run them through the amp and give them like 180 watt or something like that, that wouldnt kill them.
please help guys i dont know what i am on about lol
Cheers
if you plan on running the amp then you would use the rca outputs so the 4 x 50 means nothing, the 200w rating of the speakers realy means **** you need the rms
is the 4 x 100 w amp at 2 ohms or 4 ohms you wont have a problem running the 2 together unless you tune it wrong you will know when the speakers sound like there going to blow up anyway
the amp can run 4 speakers delivering 100w rms to each speaker
if you bridge the amp you get more power, but you can only run 2 speaker to do this would be good for subs you always have to have the same ohms when quoting amps and speaks cause an amp at 4 ohms will say has 25 w rms then a 2 ohms will have 50w rms and if its able to run 1 ohm it would have 100 w rms
