Hey guys im looking to buy a new car. I had a vs commodore it got written off and i got 5g to play with. Im lokoking at vl calais.. i no there 9 years older than the vs but i just got a thing for them. Now all you guys with n/a vl's do you have frequent problems with them because there old cars? and just give me some feedback if you think its worth downgrading? thanks guys
well Vls are great cars and i love my calais but they do have their fair share of problems, like tappets is pretty common, the AFM (AirFlowMetre),CAS (CrankAngleSensor), Fuel pump, they are just some problems ive had but if you can find a nice well looked after calais then get it. Or you could probably find a not to bad vl turbo for around 5-6k. all up to personal prefrence though i guess.
They're a ******* aren't they.
I'm looking for a vl calais N/A and trying to find out if there's a way I can hide the turbo.
My friend had a 180sx, he just lost his license for driving a turbo car. Admitedly, he was speeding *sigh*
VL's are great. Service the car when your supposed to and you will have no dramas. Also if your a tight ass it will show because you will have no end of troubles...
If i were you id get a vs again, test drive a few na vl's and you'll notice a difference in handling and power, they are getting older and it is hard to find a mint one for a good price, i'll agree they look better so if you were to find a mint calais then it would be worth looking at, but it would have to be well looked after,
just my 2 cents
