Hey guys, Love music will most probably be sticking my own sound in it, Price range for the amp, 4 speakers "front and parcel" and the head unit, I'm going to be looking around the 600ish dollars, It doesn't have to be teh loudest damn DOOF DOOF in Australia, But i want it loud enough for people to hear it outside of my car and i want it to beat really well....
Could somebody please give me some info on what i could get and prices and where to buy?
My cousins selling a AMP for 50 bucks it had on teh box worth 500 but was ages ago, it's like an ATX or something i think? and i think he said something like 350 watt? or 3 75's or something? And he also selling a 1000wat sub for 50, just not too sure if i should pick them up or anything...
Please give me some advice and what i could get around that price, thanks a lot.

Get us some brand names & model numbers and we can let you know..
Alot of people who dont know much as yourself will get confused with 1000watts and 1000rms, RMS is true power your speakers need.
And alot of cheap car audio like stuff you find in supercheap says 1000watts but its about 100rms, Good brands 1000watts = 700rms

if u want it all for 500bucks installed u need to b looking on ebay and forums... just to get all that installed at say jb or strathfield will be around that much... someone on here who lives closey to u would give u hand its not that hard.
look on ebay for the subs and speakers and amps. u should be able to find a deal with all that for a couple of hundred. if u want to buy brand new it will be very expensive. remember also to budget the wires which can add quite a bit more dollars

yeah, I might just buy the head unit and 4 speakers at the moment and then get the sub / amp a few weeks later, My cousins had free installation at Autobahn or close to free when he brought it all from them, In fact i will have around the 6 - 700 mark maybe.....
Thanks for the advice, And as i said, i cant give any brand names, that's what i was coming to you guys for... advice on what to get at reasonable prices.

get a good headunit and 6 inch splits for front and back
then when uv got a bit more money invest in a 4 channel amp to run speakers and a monoblock to run a sub

23-01-08, 23:50 GMT+10#10 its not hard t install it yourself, i just bought a new sound system for my vl didnt want anything over the top so i just got all pioneer. head unit, 6''s for the front, 6x9's for the back and i did it all myself and ran new wires for the speakers. didnt get a sub or anything yet but it sounds pretty decent. i spent around $500 to get all that when autobarn had a 25% off sale.
Oh and about the wires in a vl they are behind the glove box there is a thread on here that tells you what each wire is for, thats what i used.

I've highlighted a sub and a amp, are these good prices? Rememebr i don't want THE BEST sound, But as long as it thumps and sound's DECENT it would be good enough for me.

For them 2 it's only around $390ish, Which leaves me Around $210 to buy the head Unit and the 4 speakers front a rear, And The front and rear don't have to be done straight away anyway.
I'll probably be buying my gear from either

A lot of my travel will almost be alone on 3+ hour trips, not in the city.
Thats a good help post... Why does that always happen with NZ'ers? Never help just annoy. Although MRDFCT helped me. Thanks
And what i meant by people hearing it outside as in it's loud enough to do it, or is clear, Doesn't mean i constantly want them to hear it.

31-01-08, 18:23 GMT+10#16 Thanks mate, Any idea about them 2 items though? If i was going to get 2000watts I'd rather it be in 1 package and box like that one.
Who knows, if i cant get a positive on it i might not get them

31-01-08, 19:20 GMT+10#18 i would get a good quality headunit... its the most important thing, as it gives out the signal all the amps do is make it louder and speaker play it

01-02-08, 10:12 GMT+10#19 Oh alright.. I think I'd buy the head unit from autobarn though, i have a $100 gift voucher from there.
And the reason why i really wanna buy from strathfield right now is because they have 20% - 30% - 40% even 50% off a LOT of their stuff.
And i also can't find a store who stocks them 'pioneer tsw306c 12inch" ones, I don't buy online either sorry.
Hmmm, I Might just buy a $300 head unit, buy my cousins sub / amp, and get 4 - 6 good little speakers 2 on each door, and 2 on the parcel shelf.
See, Now I'm thinking about this head unit, But for some reason why is it so expensive? It doesn't look like it has anything at all really on it, Theres no screen or anything....
Why is the head unit the utter most important?
