Just curious if anyone would know roughly what sort of power gain a stock VL V8 would get running straight gas. With 122kw from factory I know that these engines have been restricted due to the polution gear they needed to be fitted with, but I have been told that all of this can be removed if all of the petrol lines, tank etc have totally been removed. i.e no trace of a petol system at all, only a gas system. I understand that the better the gas system fitted the better the performance will be and if you mod this or mod that power can be increased, but I'm just curious about a "like for like" comparison. A basic gas setup vs the stock petrol setup. Cheers

there was a dual fuel landrover on a dyno (my teacher was saying..) extra 6kw on gas.. and that was not a dedicated gas system..

if you upgraded manifold at the same time u might gain a lil but would still be being held back by the stock exhaust system. from what ive seen in the past a strait gas carb vapor system will generally match the power of a petrol system, but liquid injection would make good gains over petrol. but others may have seen differently
