Ok.... New to v8s especially carby 360ci stroker... (304 VL carby motor) Just a few questions 1. How hard is it to setup, I know its different than EFI 2. Tuning? 3. What type of turbo would be recommended 4. Would an SC be a better option? 288 solid cam custom low comp dished pistons 100hp nos shotpeened rods heads havent been touched as of yet....

i also know nothing.. BUT If the heads are stock and "as of yet" sounds like you are going to mod them. why not convert to injected VN heads? good heads and no carby all in one go?

288 will be no good with boost. now, check out www.turbomustangs.com (http://www.turbomustangs.com) i think it is... you're gonna need a boost ref'd carby, decent carb hat, Aeromotive fuel pump, Aeromotive reg etc... cost wise, it's pretty much just as expensive as EFI, maybe a little more.

its not that hard to do but best bet is to purchase the carb and hat from the states. try a search for summit racing. barry grant make a great blowthrough carb. what is your compression ratio? and what do you want from the car? street or race? regards will

i would presonally prefer a blower.. mate has one in his 372 ci pontiac.. pretty simple setup, its an f1 blower flowing upto 38 pounds.. ull need a blow through carby though, those extreme velocity ones are good for what your gonna want..

BG blow through carbys are ****. mod your holley through Jakes Performance in Canberra.. Then you'll need Aeromotive reg and pump, there's about 1500-2k through summit... cooler piping, hat, etc. Then find someone in VIC who can tune it for ya Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

get in touch with Jakes Performance in Canberra as stated before he is the blow through king in australia as far as I am concerned. but personally I would go with the efi heads while you have to change cam anyway. and put a microtech or better in it. you wont regret it in the long run for driveability and tuneability

Ring Frank @ Dandenong Engines. He just built a turbo'd 308 and made 730hp on 15psi think it was. Thats going into a sleeper HQ. That was a pretty budget set up too. Tell him Brett sent you Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

As Kane has already stated, go to www.turbomustangs.com (http://www.turbomustangs.com) . Have a good read in the Blow through section, you will see that 99% of guys run an Aeromotive fuel system, a CSU or C&S carb and a Superior Airflow Carb bonnet(hat). Not cheap stuff!!! I love blow through's but unfortunately they just cost too much in Australia. Go EFI if you're going to do it. Have you set yourself a budget and if so how much is it? Are you sure that a 288 cammed, 355 with a 100 shot of NOS isn't quick enough for you?!?! Because it would be quick enough for most!!!!

No... No budget as of yet.... Still throwing ideas around.... And why not go quicker Quote: Originally Posted by Epitaph he hasnt driven it before, but i have been in the car previously and it was a street monster This is true... So I guess my final decision will be made after that... But it can't hurt to ask questions Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

He's got low comp pistons, so will be abit sluggish without some boost, you need 10.5 - 11:1 comp for a 288. While the 288 isnt ideal, it will still work ok - its just that something with a bit more lobe seperation would be more suitable (288 only has 108ish, ideally need 110-116 LSA). You can still have a monster cam with boost, just needs to be a custom grind so you get decent LSA. So if your on a budget and already have the all the valvetrain assembly for the 288, then i'd just stick with it, but as always, if you've got the money then there are better options.

The low comp pistons (unsure of specs)... They have been custom made from Chev 350's to suit the nitrous Hmmm options options... Keep it coming

go EFI blothru would be awesome if u could get it right the first time.... you'll end up going efi anyway. Hey i'd try the 288, if it doesn't work then run a turbo grind. (surecams built mine, great results) cheers Brett
