Heads are the same, cam is different. If you are using an N/A block (standard pistons - high compression setup), use two head gaskets separated by a decompression plate, and run an intercooler straight away.

Thats just what I've been told to do when converting an N/A to manual and keeping it as a high compression setup. Sorry, I didn't notice that he was using a VLT block.

like everyone else has said the n/a and the turbo head is the same besides the cam if your turbo (head has seen better days) then id suggest get a n/a head from a running vl and take it to a machining shop and get it cracked tested, ported and polished, new springs and new lifters and get the cam from the turbo head and put it on the n/a head unless you want to go aftermarket. after when you get all this done for the head gasket just get a stock rb30et gasket eithier from nissan or holden and a new gasket kit aswell for the inlet and outlet. hope this helps you out Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

thank u all for the info but still one question should my turbo make boost when free revving it or only under load e.g. driven it thanks jamie

It might go from vacuum to 0-1 or 2 psi on a big rev but wont really make any boost as such when there is no load.
