Hey guys My stroker is finally finished being machined, acid dipped and re bored, the custom pistons are ready and now just needs assembly. I'm not going through my normal mechanic to assemble it, got a mate doing it but he needs to know what it gets dialled in at. Does anyone know what a 288 solid cam needs to be dialled in at? Cams rev range is 3500-7000, car will have a 4000 hi stall and is running 100hp shot of nitrous aswell. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

i set mine straight up zero deg (im also running a 288 solid), a cam card with all the specs should come with the cam when u get it.

I'll have to call crane or crow and get that card. I bought the car with the stroker in it and already built but i snapped a piston in half (machined wayyyy too much) so it got a full rebuild. I'm guessing your is built for some decent power as i've been reading about your car? I'm just trying to work out what people are dialling their 288's into, whether somebody is using some different to get more power or a different rev range or torque.

as RVK mentioned it should be stated on the cam card but genrally alot of people run different set ups for different purposes, more advance means more low down power whereas more retard means more high end power. another thing people do is if you want it set at zero, set it a tad advanced which gives leeway for chain stretch down the track. Also every engine is different so its a bit hard to say what it should be set up exactly but any way good luck with it

http://www.cranecams.com.au/pdfs/hol...et_14-5-07.pdf (http://www.cranecams.com.au/pdfs/holdencams_guidesheet_14-5-07.pdf) Hope this helps. you can use this to dial the cam in if you have a degrees wheel and pedistool dial indiactor. If the block has been decked, measure off both banks.

Damn i feel for you, ive had a piston shatter at 6500rpm. yea i built mine for some decent power, motor made close to 500 at the crank. IMO just set the cam staraight up to zero, if you have to advance or retard the cam to gain more your proably running the wrong cam shaft. whats the specs of your motor?

I've used cc288, cc300 & cc304 over the years and had great success with them at 0deg
