hey all... trying my best to fix the detent switch, ive searched and tryed to put a hose over the detent switch(brown thingy that slides) with a garden hose, and a bigger hose...still didnt work.. so i decided to put the garden hose over the detend switch and tape the bigger hose to the garden hose to make a f*ckin dead set contact.. still shifts at 3,500 so this is where i cry to use for help cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

dont you need the TPS for the Auto to also be in position on the TB next to the TPS for the engine ECU, that might have a flakey connection because as far as I can determine you need both to work if you are using the standard auto ecu under dash in front of driver...

TPS = Throttle Body Sensor, its connected directly to the throttle body itself and uses resistance to much how open or closed the throttle body is, thus telling the car how much juice to put in....i think Niche correct me if im wrong good sir

Thats correct ZanSta, I'm not sure though on second thought how much the TPS is read during a kickdown, there is all sorts of anecdotal info but the ECU for the tranny doesnt really seem to do much except look after the overdrive and flash up the PWR light on the dash when high demand and provide basic diagnostic. If the TPS is seen as faulty then it 'might' affect kickdown but I dont see what the reason would be for that given the valve body has no electronic control part and the kickdown valve arrangement looks fairly conventional - like a 3 speed non ECU type tranny <shrug> @Inspired, Think you might actaully need to see a mechanic or be friendly with the local auto tranny recon company and see if they can give some free advice, I might have the Vol 3 service manual copy around the back of the workshop, havent seen it for a while but, you should be able to get a copy from your local state ref library (thats where i got mine) and see what it says precisely, there should be a diagnosis flowchart in there, Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah I know what yah mean, had one few years ago er um somewhat bigger covered the whole wall of the motel and controlled the remote area power system had red/green and purple hilights all over it, quite a talking point with the local cleaning staff as I would be up all night adding to it and they would come in at 10am when I was just about to get some sleep - some nice girls in that motel in Malaysia Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
