hey guys ive picked up a really clean vk berlina shell. once had a 308 in her but the previous owner took it out to put in a torra. anyway since ive bought it , ive droped a nice mildy worked 308 out of a vk calais. ive wired it all up. and checked all the fuses are working. but i havnt droped the auto in yet as im waiting for my stally to arrive. now i just want the motor to crank over. but i try to start the car and get nothing only noise from the relay clicking over. no ive had a few differnt asnwers from people saying why it wont start. first of is the fact it has no auto behind it and that it wont turn over because the inhitbior switch isnt hooked up.
ive had a testlight on the alt.coil.starter and all getting power
please anyhelp would be great as i want this car going soon for summer and cruises
thanks

If your inhibitor switch isnt hooked up... she wont be cranking nowhere. Its like a kill switch.

You should be able to disengage it. When I was installing my shifter if I held the button / released the button with my fingers it would inturn allow / disallow the engine from cranking.
It should be a little button that gets pressed in the shifter somewhere. Find it, press it and unpress it and crank it. You'll soon find out if thats what is stopping you.
I think you will find that will be your problem. Once thats sorted and if it still doesnt start then theres a wiring / starter / ignition problem.

It should be a little switch which would connect to the automatic gear shifter. Itll be there along with your reverse light switch. Look where your shifter would be / under the carpet surrounding it.
