Some reason when i use the search now i get some "fatal error" im pretty sure ive seen threads on this before but cant find em. anyway, went for a drive today and car stalled randomly, twice, once on the way and once on the way back home. both times it was when i was sitting at the lights, tis a vl with an rb20 in it. anyone know what the general cause might be for this? first time it stalled it started back up pretty easy, second time it stalled it wouldent start at all and we had to push it on the side of the road, we waited about 3 minutes then it just started and sounded brand *** new. has over half a tank of fuel in it.

I had that happen but only on hot days - turned out to be the CAS, few other people have also reported the same issues. An old CAS is temperature sensitive and doesnt give out a reliable signal when it gets really hot, the infra-red diodes inside are exposed to constant vibration and temp over 100 deg C, so they eventually get erratic and then fail. Other possible is some interruption of the ignition circuit, such as bad contacts on the security key under lip of glovebox or a sh.tty relay in engine bay that feeds the ECU for polarity protection etc...
