mate thats a good idea but fr maximum airflowyou need to cut a 80x80mm hole in your bonnet my mate did this and he beat a vs senator by 12 car lengths for maximum power cut a maximum hole Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

following vltomma's post, cut bonnet out inbetwen the bracing directly above the pod filter, just use an angle grinder or tin snips all good.* **please note i take no responsability for any defects you may accriure due to this "mod"

yes marmo is exactly right but best to use a 9 inch angle grinder as its much easier to control the cut because of the direction of airflow over the bonnet this acts as a sort of forced induction and will dramatically improve performance, reliablility and fuel economy hope this helps

Seriously what you have done will make a difference, and I had a simlar duct in my VL (now my pod sits behind the front bumper) However in saying that we can do those sorts of things in NZ without cops giving us a hard time, and by the sounds of it you can't, so I think you are pretty stupid for doing so The holes you cut for your subs is a cracker though

The surface area of the pod pictured is very close to the factory filter but you will get engine hot air without a box over it. I had a look at a pod filter but decided it wasnt worth it. So I cut as large a hole as I could at the bottom of the air box and the steel underneath it - so all the air comes from the left wheel well. Other than one puddle in 8 years that made the engine die - it has been fine. Definitely gave me more power, it used to make a noticeable change in sound when spooling as well, but doesnt any more, maybe I need a new filter, it might even have rocks in it One day I'll smooth out that stupid rubber pipe with the spring inside <yuck> But where does one get these little plastic vacuum test things that hang off the air box AFM side of the filter so you can tell if the filter is getting gummed up ? Saw one a year or two back, they were a give-away from some pneumatic controls company, great idea edit: Btw- when doing the hole in the bottom of the air box, I covered the other inlet into the box so no engine bay air at all...
