Hey First of all, this is actually a dual fuel system setup in a VN. I know you guys mainly deal with/discuss VL's here but thought it was worth a shot. Recently when my car was idling after a few minutes/seconds, it would blow the fuel pump wedge fuse under the bonnet. I would replace it, would run again for a minute, then blow again. Got it to an auto electrician who basically said that the fuel filter had dried up and was blowing the fuse as I had only been running it on gas for the past few months since I bought it. I didnt know any better as i'd never driven or owned a car on gas/dual-fuel before now. SO he disconnected the fuel system and so it's just running on Gas at the moment. With that done, I thought all was good. And it was - for a few days. Now the car's gas sytem just shuts off at random. Idling or driving, doesnt make a difference. Every few days the gas meter just turns off (the lights go out), and the battery light comes on, on the dash. I get out of the car, remove the same fuel pump fuse (although it doesnt actually blow the fuse anymore), put it back in, jiggle that a few times, and it works again. Very bloody strange. Wondering if anyone has had this problem or could tell me what it may be. Like I said it used to blow the fuse before he disconnected the fuel pump for normal petrol, and now its on gas it doesnt blow the fuse, but the fuse is the problem. I need it to stop shuttin off every few days, its driving me nuts. CHeers.

I would be checking the ECU earth and the fuel relay earth.
