This happend after getting my car tuned... i decided to see what it had, was doing over 180ks at the time. Anyone seen this happen before? I think one of the circlips has broken and the bearing peice has fallen out and this is the aftermath. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

unbelieveable... judging by th look of that bellhousing you'd think the flywheel exploded, then the tailshaft went.. what does the flywheel/clutch look like? pics?

Your VERY lucky it wasn worse if it had have fallen out it could have torn the car in half. I once saw a pic of a limo where the front uni fell out and the tail shaft nearly tore it in half

Man that is some carnage! id say you were pretty lucky! i wonder what the result would of been if it was a 1 piece shaft..

yea i thought i was lucky later on that it didn't lock up and send me into the power poles i was watching go by. The clutch and pressure plate weren't damaged at all thankfully. I had a spare gearbox so all i needed was a new release bearing clip, clutch fork clip which i had spare, i found the clutch fork down the road. Seems to be going sweet again other than this gearbox is a bit crunchy.

one of my mates had one go in his vk v8 and it lifted the back end off the ground about 5 ft and spun the car onto the side walk thats why twin tail shaft loops are good for burnouts and draging

I had a one piece tailshaft do the same, not good!! it was in my HQ tonner, the tailshaft smashed a huge hole in the fuel tank It lifted the ass of the tonner off the ground. it also broke the bellhousing, and the block! made me wonder if it was the bellhousing that let go?? westy Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
