guys noone can answer this for me as i am very curious, i am about to have 2 cars running a 2jzgte , and i have been seriously considering a gas setup on at least 1 of them if not both. ive heard about geting ignition only ecus, stainless valves, what else needs to be done, what converter/s would be suitable and has anyone done it!

no different to a turbo vl on gas..convertors and carby all come down to how much power u wanna make.

My Set Up will run 2 B2 convertors, 2 VFF30 lock offs (i think), 90 litre tank, 440 CFM Gas research mixer.
Standard vl ecu for now.
All the same principals apply for all engines.
Any engine built for unleaded fuel is suitable for LPG.
You don't need stainless valves but if ur rebuilding the motor it wouldn't hurt to add them while it's apart.

im more concerned on the durability of the 2jz when chucked on gas. id say the most power the engines would see is 300rwkw MAX i would definetly want to put both cars on gas as both get driven regularly. ive heard bad things about gas research regarding turbo +lpg where do you guys get your parts? such as bottles converters getting it fitted etc etc.
sorry for all the q's but very very iterested how everyone runs theirs costs etc etc

I have heard that tanks with electric lock offs (post 1994)will only flow enough for around 220rwkws. To get more flow you would have to remove or modify this, which is illegal. VLMUZZA might be able to help with the tanks question. Mine was converted 2 months ago and hasn't missed a beat and i got the 2k rebate in 5 working days. Cost me $3250 less rebate.

i wouldnt fit it up those multi valve heads have a lot of proplems with valve recess cause of the small valves in them in alot of cases they dont last 50,000 km before requireing a rebuild and with mores valves it cost more for rebuilds, with the standard vl head you dont have so much problems cause the valves a much bigger thats why a lot of car companys dont recomend gas on there cars i have had alot of problems at work, alot of people dont realise this and now with everyone swicthing to gas its getting worse, good luck

The only way you are gonna get real reliability with a 2jz is to go with injection. Vapour injection will ensure that the chances of it running lean are nil therefore not running the valve hotter than it allready is on gas. Leanout is one of the main reasons for premature valve recession or burnt valves as the LPG will have a tendancy to run valves heaps hotter if the thing is constantly leaning out on cruise and power.
Next year I will be officially selling liquid injection systems and for anyvehicle running sequential injection this is by far the most superior system around today. LPG injected as a liquid will have a dramatic effect on combustion temprature therefore running engine valves MUCH cooler prolonging their life expectancy over petrol.
Also the increase in power of 5%+++ is a added bonus. Advqntages of this system far exceed the advantages of any other system available on the market at the moment. And for boosted applications there will be nothing that comes close. The petrol ecu will be powering the LPG liquid injectors so you are utilising whatever mapping you have existing for petrol and just getting added power increase at a cheaper running cost.
Beat that!!!

its only the head that you will have trouble with in time it could last 100,000 its just a roll of the dice but they do wear out
gas is a dry fuel not like petrol that lubes the valves and helps cool them , its a bit like going from leaded to unleaded this causes extra wear

Will be keeping an eye on this thread to find out how you go about putting gas on the 2JZ.
Damn expensive ass petrol
