hey guys i dunno if ne1 knows but i just put the rb25det in my n/a vl i need to know what wires i need to connect to make the bloody thing work lol i have powered the comp up using the keyswith power to the relay but need help on what colours to match to what :s cheers guys

not really thats y im asking!! i was told its easy as long as i get the relay to power up the comp will turn on wich it does but now i crank it at the motor and it dont fire :s

"You crank it at the motor" - what does this mean? It turns over but does not start? Have you wired in the injectors?

yeh i just short the starter motor over to crank it , the injectors should be wired as i have the loom etc and the comp , its all pluged in but theres another long plug that also is with the 25loom that im guessing is to suit a r33 skyline dash plug. also there are two relays that are there too i am thinking one of the relays is to swith on and off power to the comp so i have got power to it but still will not start! i dont know why.. does anyone know the basic minimum these motors need to start eg afm, srang angle they will need but i dunno if they need to be connected to gearbox :s

NEVER connect the battery directly to the starter motor. Its the quickest way to ruin it. And thats not getting it to crank, its simply powering the starter motor. So, you haven't got it to crank, or do anything at all. You really need to get some R33 wiring diagrams.

powering the ecu will only fire the injectors as you crank it.. you still need to apply power to the fuel pump and ignition system... if you arent sure then probably best you grab a mate who has an idea, or if you dont mind spending some $$ on getting it done properly then look up an auto elec.

Can't get hold of a wiring diagram of a skyline or whatever those engines originally came in? That's what i'd try do anyway.

my m8 dan is putting a rb25det in his calais soon and i think he has a diagram for it, il ask him wen i c him....that said what problems have u gone thru sofar getting the motor and box in cuz iv got to do my m8s soon lol

You will need to hook up the obvious wires like, constant power, switched power, the negative and earths, then other things like fuel pump trigger, tach signal etc you will have to get hold of a RB25det wirring diagram to work out which wires are what.

ok kool thanks guys iv decided to take it to a shop im sick of buggerin around with it , when i get it done ill look what has been done and post up Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

iv looked on it but it doesnt help at all, it should tell u exactly what must be connected colours and all or its just too confusing,,, take it u havn seen the rb25det plugs!! all up bout 200 wires to the two in car plugs hahaaa

lol burgo you dont need 5 threads in 5 different sections for this so i've merged them

my mate had similar problem when we did his... make sure your fuel pump is going, and if i remember rightly there was one other wire which we had to hook up to the power which powered just the coils/injectors. was white or cream in colour,
