What are your views??????? Thinking of buying one Hey ive been looking at getting a Jammer cos im sick of getting tickets. A mate of mine has one in his SS and he said it was the best thing he ever bought. Ive had a Velentein Radar detector before till it was stolen, was an awesome we unit but i want something better ie a jammer LOL www.radardirect.co.nz (http://www.radardirect.co.nz) are selling Blinder radar jammer's at a cost of about $1200 Specs: One M45 X Treme: includes 2 M-20 sets giving 4 (plug in) laser jammer modules (plug in), interface module, Audio and LED (plug in) alerts, Power on/off switch, leveling device (plug in). M45 X Treme is ideally suited for front laser jamming on Trucks and 4WD SUVs, or front/rear laser jamming on cars. HOW DO POLICE LASER GUNS GET YOUR SPEED? The laser gun sends out a very narrow laser beam filled with invisible light pulses, pointed at your license plate or headlights. The laser beam reflects off your vehicle, back to the laser gun. The time required from transmission until the reflection is received is calculated by the laser gun's computer. This measurement is made about 70 times in 1/3 of a second for fast, high accuracy. HOW DOES THE M20 X Treme WORK? A laser jammer adds laser "noise" to the reflected signal. The Blinder? M25 X Treme correctly analyzes the incoming laser gun pulse and gets past the laser gun filters to cause the speed gun display panel to remain blank. The M25 X Treme constantly scans for laser, but jams only during the alert phase, thus providing long life for the product. When laser is detected, the Laser Warning System installed in the driver's compartment provides warning, giving the driver time to check vehicle speed. After speed is checked, the driver should turn off the system to enable the officer to detect your vehicle's adjusted speed. Once past the speed trap, turn the M25 or M45 X Treme it back on Features: * Detects all laser guns made today in Europe, USA/Canada, Australia and N.Z. * Scans constantly for laser acquisition. * Very small package for easy, hidden installation. * Jams all laser guns at any distance. * Locks on to exact frequency of laser gun for effective jamming. * Jams constantly when laser is detected. * Detailed performance report appears below, if you're interested. * Dual Laser Jammer Modules provide full frontal coverage on license plate and headlights * THE #1 RATED LASER JAMMER/DETECTOTR IN THE WORLD. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The explanation above is missing 2 parts 1. How they will catch you 2. what they will do when they catch you

The whole idea is when the signal is picked up you brake and slow down to a reasonable speed as you do then flick the unit off at the swith wherever you have it mounted so they can take your speed reading. it just comes up on there unit as an error which is a common error here. Pleanty of people here in NZ have them.

jammers hardly work and an experianced officer can judge your speed, and give you a ticket on that, this is case law. The lasers take a split second to lock as does a radar and if police are hidden your not going to dodge them even if you do with this device and its proved you could be up for obstructing police, think about and slow down. Thats what the race track is for not were our familys are.

That is a good point. I always wanted a scanner.. but i feel that they just give you an unjustified sense of safety, because they aren't perfect, and they do cost alot.. would prefer stereo gear and stuff like that. Yeah that's another good point, if you're pulled up for anything and they see a scanner/jammer, or even just the windscreen bracket for them, they will try to **** you for anything they can find.. if you do get one, make sure you can hide it easily.

In most cases to overtake safely on the open road you need to break the speed limit. I also know of more than a few people who have been pulled over for doing 112-118km/hr on a big wide open passing lane and ticketed If you are really speeding, the radar detector wont save you. They are more to stop you getting the stupid "revenue collecting" tickets

it's different if your a grown man than if your a teenager.the cops pulled over me and my old man one night.(he drove as i had been on the piss) you should of seen the look on the cops face when she saw that my dad was driving a berlina with huge as rims and a loud as exhaust pipe. he then asked why she pulled us ova and not the car in front. the cop said it was just a random check.then they just let us go. they treat you different depending on your age.if you play by all the rules they will leave you alone.

you get the odd good cop though. i got pulled over one night in the calaisturbo.he did the usual breath test and then started asking me questions about it and lookin and was telling me how his mate in adelaide has a factory calaisturbo.as he left he told me to have a good night and that i had a tidy calais and not to wreck it..also cruising one night through the village(where all our pubs are) in my mates vk, about four cops takin a stroll were glancing at us and one even gave us the thumbs ups!! to our amazement.

Yeah my Dad has a VL GTS, looks rougher than either of my VLs, he's been pulled up a few times, to have the cops reaction change when he sees how old he is (I think he was let off speeding a couple of those times too). Here's the catch though, he's the irresponsible one who drove drunk and ****ed his car up (which I guess is working out well, because it's getting the bare metal respray that it needs), you don't see me doing that. This happened a few months ago, he still hasn't lost his licence yet, they're taking that off him later this month (unless they **** the date up again, or whatever happened the first time). But that's not true, I was stopped 3 times over a week, I was doing nothing wrong and two of those times I was parked. Only reason we could come up with was the car I was driving. Scanner would be great, to know if they are around. (But like i said, can give you a false sense of security)
