1. What is worth more HDT LE turbo or a HDT SPORT turbo? Essentially they are the same car. Sport replaced the LE name when it was dropped from use. Both cars had a lot of options to choose from so the price for one would depend upon what options it got and what condition it's in. 2. Also is it worth modofying one of these? Only if your intention is to devalue it. 3. Out of the 53 VL LE turbo's made does anyone know how many are still left? Seriously there is no one anywhere who can answer such a question about any type of car and i would classify the 53 built as a guesstimate. How many are unregistered sitting in sheds or have been debadged and don't get noticed in amongst all the replicas floating around. Corsa

thanks corsa With the options is there anyway you can tell if the options were factory fitted or fitted later on down the track without the luxury of paperwork?

ye i have a HDT LE calais turbo hasnt seen the light off day in a long long time, but at the moment im goin through a dilema, i see it as a waste just sitting there and i am seriously considering driving it on a day to day basis, and in saying that i know myself too well and will perform minor mods such as intercooler, and maybe stregthen the auto. The fact of the matter is there is still an element of "no gary no" but the truth is youd wanna be enjoying something like this and not let the $$$ factor rule your life. At the end of the day as long as i can get my money back im happy....VL's for me are strictly pleasure no business

DO NOT MOD IT. Its a rare car, that has been spared the urge. You will devalue it. This is what makes it rare. Its a collectors car now like it or not. Just ask your self who is looking for an original HDT and many are looking semi molested. Cooler, auto ,exhaust, blah, blah, blah, been done a millon times who cares. ( "But I will do reversable mods" ) every time you lay a spanner on it somthing gets marked, things get change. A good collectors eye will know the tricks and pick this up. Should be heritage listing for cars, once listed you can not mod it. But if you mod yours, makes the unmoded ones left, rarer. PS sorry to be so harsh got save the HDT from the Dosing boy racers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

this is what i dont understand, fair enough it wont be worth as much as a never modified one, but itll still be worth a packet due to it beeing a HDT, correct me if im wrong but the fact of the matter is the id tags and HDT's 140 bux worth of ye u have a hdt is what counts true?

Mod it or sell it You seem to have the same thoughts as me about factory cars being boring If you want an investment buy a house. If you want a fun car mod it What's an original unmodified one worth these days anyway?
