I've looked through all the NZ threads and can't find anything about this, havn't looked through the Australia threads as I won't find out what I want to know. I'm looking at buying a replacement driveshaft, but I was wondering if new universal joints are available IN NEW ZEALAND. For a 3L manual if that effects the joints, not just the shaft.

Ok, hopefully these are my final questions.. Is there a difference between V8 and 6 cylinder universal joints? Does anyone know a part number for them? And they should be available at BNT, right? Thanks for the help so far, it would be so much nicer to drive without that clunk.. and I enjoy it as it is I think that's all.. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Ok, forget all the previous stuff.. it's definitly my diff, jacked it up at the rear and I can hear the thud from the play in the gears. This thread seemed like as good of a place as any to ask questions about it.. Is there a difference in the gears between 25 and 28 spline? Opening the diff up and just swapping the gears might be the easiest option, but if anyone has a better idea for effort/cost or whatever then I'm all ears. Variables are, it's a 3L wagon, manual and has a disc brake rear end (apparently out of a V8, but I don't know, and I'd like to keep it discd.. don't want to swap a drum brake set up into it). I really want it back on the road, so advice or directions would be greatly appreciated.
