bought a calais turbo a couple of weeks ago. after a few drives ive compiled a list of what ill need to do/done to it, to get it realy nice. LIST OF THINGS FOR CAR NEEDS IMMEDIATE 1. Coolant Change (wrong coolant) 2. Propper Immobiliser (killswitch?) 3. Stick rego sticker on (LOL, do that now) 4. call qld registration place to see if remaining 2 months of rego can be transfered. NEEDS SOON 1. Rust around windows cut out (barely showing, 1cmx1cm patch of visible bubble) 2. Paint Protection 3. Horn, Cruise cont, elec mirrors, arial fixing (all electric problems) 4. Rear windows electrics fixed (1 winds down only 10cm, other only works from centre controll) 5. Button re-attached to seat WANTS White walls? - Currently unatainable due to WA ****ness Possible cooler with boostage in the future? New centre console top (15I) just wondering what recomendations you guys have for who or how to do these things. found a few threads around, but id especialy like recomendations on the electrics that need fixing, and where i should take it (as i want a pro job) to get the rust cut out around the windos and sealed properly. some of the things as youll see i can do myself with out much trouble, but the more imporant stuff id rather have reciepts and work done by the right people. the rear windows baffle me, as soon as i can find time im going to take the door trims off to have a look at them.

i had a look at the window thread before, im thinking thats not my problem as they wind at a decent rate. its just one doesnt wind down from the controlls in the door, only from the centre console, and the other only goes down about 100mm. so im gonna have to just check the connections of the button in 1 door, and check if there is anything blocking the other. very interested in some recomendations for the affirmentioned 2 bigger issues (rust+elecs)

For whitewalls. Brad Rayner at West Coast Wheels (I think he posts on here?) is getting a machine in. Phone: 9535 4533 For paint protection that actually does something, see Des Wong at AutoFX: Phone: [phone removed]

will be getting some fresh pictures on the weekend of the rust and some other things. damn i wish my life wasnt so busy, as soon as tafes over everything will be in full motion, rather than fitting stuff around it.

i wouldnt go so far as immaculate, immaculate is the goal, i plan to take it from 95% clean to 99.95% (0.05% isnt worth a plastic bubble and never being able to sit in it now is it) soon as tafes over this car is going to get some megga TLC.

With your windows, if it works fine from the centre console but not from the door switch, would it not be safe to assume that switch is faulty? Pull it apart check for power at that switch or check the switch itself, i don't know how a VL system is setup but it can't be that technical.

yes it is useually the switches. it can be fixed with a simple clean up. ive done many now. or it coould be simply the wiring of the switches at the back. its hard to say without looking at it and fiddling. i can do electrics if need be. i can supply and fit an imobaliser or can just fit one if nessasary. let me know if your interested as i am in need for some cash. can also do few other things if nessasary.
