We got there a bit late and it was just as Karam hit the wall. Saw the car back in the carpark coming off the tow truck and i think it's safe to say that it's seen better days (the body)
When we got there Anthony's car was already on the tow truck (main reason we came was to see him race) which was disappointing but he'll be back on Saturday i believe. Apparently he ran 9.4 at 100mph haha
Good to see you can't run faster than 9 seconds on a wednesday night, but a top fueller is aloud to come out and do a 5 second pass
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
lol!! the track was fully prepped as a 1 off though i think. vlboss was on a mission!! i like it i like it 129mph to the half track off a lazy 60fter anthony says. it was easily on a mission for 160mph. all i have to say about the run is..anthony talked up a big burnout and let me down!!!!! it was piss weak!! haha step it up son!!! car looks amazing
the karam car was unlucky he got out of the hole turning the tyres a bit, car got close to the centre line i think and turned the tyres hard on the painted lines, car went 90 degrees straight for the wall at around the 100m mark and hit it hard.
real shame as it sounded real strong. you hate to see that and dont wish it on anyone, at least the driver was ok but i dont think that chassis will be back out. hope im wrong though
all in all, good night out
The Karam car dropped alot of fluid (pretty sure water) from the startline onwards which spun it into the wall, body is pretty very beat up, but they think the chassis is ok.
2 VL's in 2 weeks.... unfortunate that is.... especially when they are two of sydenys quietest achievers.... you dont see them come on here and sh*t talk.... As that song goes "Nice guys finish last!"
No worries Fred.. as long as your good mate I'm sure you'll have no issues getting back on track!
