Hi everyone, I've been thinking of getting my N/A VL converted to gas as i do around 800km a week in it and its costing me a lot in petrol. So i thought id get some prices, i went to the Gas Research Australia web site and found they only listed 1 fitter in Qld that being Tony Motson's Performance Centre. I just gave him a call and was told that they will not do VL commodores as they have an inherant backfire problem which the manufacturer (GRA) will not guarantee they have fixed. Does anyone know any more about this?????

lol gas research will also strongly recommend you dont use their product for forced induction.... they make good products but generally the fitters they recommend are dead****s just call a few gas workshops and see if they have experiance fitting a gas research system, its generaly not rocket science theres ****loads of vl turbos using gas research gear, dont think itd be much different to an n/a..

lol i did read that it was n/a...which is why i said that i didnt think there would be any difference between fitting gas research gear to a turbo or n/a?? most backfire problems are on dual fuel cars that use the gas ring style setup as the tune isnt ideal and thers ****loads of gas in the intake. the gas research gear sits right on the plenum inplace of the stock t/b i thought? and if u went strait gas would eliminate the chance of a bad tune. but as i said, maybe theres a big difference between fitting one on and n/a to a turbo? lol

LPG cars only back fire if things arent 100% done properly.. u need to know all the in's and outs of LPG on a turbo car before you can complain about it backfiring.. a lot of things can cause this...

Can anyone recommend any fitters around goldcoast brisbane that use Gas Research produces. I want to go straight gas also and no gas ring garbage.

ring mixers are fine for non turbo... i fit gas, just put an impco system on it and you will never have a problem so long as its tuned good and you have good spark... i think gas research carbs are great but for what you want, impco will do the job.

We get gas cars at our work sometimes blowing apart airboxes cuz the plugs are too cold. As in heat range.
